Securicor Omega Container Logistics (SOCL), the UK market leader in road based container transport, also provides a range of container services.

With an expanding portfolio of depots, each supported by state of the art facilities; SOCL has the skills, knowledge and equipment to optimise container box fleet management.

Across the UK, our depots have the capacity to store up to 10,000 TEU of empty boxes, whether they are 20 foot, 40 foot, dry van, reefer or tank containers. Our lifting service is now provided at some of our depots by new double stacking container handlers and is further supported by estimating, maintenance and repair skills, to ensure your box is wind and water-tight and ready for use.

SOCL has particular expertise in reefer services, with skilled engineers and a purpose-built reefer gantry to ensure temperature sensitive goods are kept in a constant environment throughout their voyage. SOCL offer PT1 (pre-trip inspection) to test and rectify faults on the reefer unit prior to the journey.

SOCL can also supply and fit parts and carry out body repairs. Our stock management system provides assurance that spare parts are available, resulting in prompt repairs and allowing reefers to continue their journey with the minimum delay. We stock parts for all our depots and also act as distributors to 3rd parties and vessels.

Developed in-house, by our own specialist IT programmers, our container control system maximises efficiency in each depot and provides enhanced visibility of the operation.

Using laptop computers, we are also able to download data from each temperature control unit, outputting information (via the Internet if appropriate) relating to temperature consistency and voyage history, enabling us to supply our customers with detailed analysis of the reefer's journey.

SOCL is an appointed service centre for the following reefer unit manufacturers: Carrier Transicold, Daikin, Mitsubishi and Thermo King and consequently receives regular updates on their latest technologies, keeping our engineers informed of new developments. With Thermo King, we have developed this further, providing the facilities for them to carry out a European Training session, attended by engineers across the continent.

In addition to our depot services, SOCL has a fleet of mobile service vans, providing 24 hour, 365 days a year reefer support to vessels, reefers on the quay as well as on customers' premises. Old reefers can be updated to meet the latest standards and industry requirements with our retrofit programme, which includes changing refrigerant, making the units more environmentally friendly.

Another service offered by SOCL is genset resource management, which ensures that reefer containers remain at a consistent temperature for their inland journey. Our genset networking programme manages and monitors the location and destination of our fleet of power in transit units, ensuring they are serviced, repaired if required and available in the right place, at the right time to suit customers' demands. This approach enables us to offer our customers a unique one way' service to reduce your hire time and costs. You can rely on SOCL to have a genset at the port or near the inland hub when you need it.

To complement these services and in conjunction with CRT (Cambridge refrigeration technology) we provide regular training courses for non-technical and specialist personnel at our Felixstowe site. Our reefer skills and technology alongside our dry van storage and repair provide our customers with a wide range of services all on one site.

With SOCL servicing your containers, your customers can be assured their load will arrive dry and undamaged.
